Date: September 16, 2016 Telescope: CDK20N Filters: griz Observer: John Kielkopf Processing: dark, flat, wcs, rgb color mapped to irg filters The Andromeda Galaxy, M31, is approaching the Milky Way and will collide with it in 4.7 billion years. It is approximately 2.5 million light years, 780,000 parsecs, from our galaxy now. The color images show the full central region and its dust lanes. The galaxy is a spiral inclined to our line of sight. The nucleus of the galaxy is the bright spot in its center. Within that there is a central black hole ~10^8 (100,000,000) times the Sun's mass. m31_00034_r_dfw.fits TARGET = M31 EXPTIME = 100.0 FILTER = r_(530-700) DATE-OBS = 2015-09-17T03:25:57.772 INSTRUME = m31_00035_i_dfw.fits TARGET = M31 EXPTIME = 100.0 FILTER = i_(700-825) DATE-OBS = 2015-09-17T03:28:38.574 INSTRUME = m31_00036_g_dfw.fits TARGET = M31 EXPTIME = 100.0 FILTER = g_(400-530) DATE-OBS = 2015-09-17T03:31:12.188 INSTRUME =
