The camera uses a Sony ICX414 sensor.

3000 images with 40 millisecond exposure times were acquired to make this one
processed image.

This is the night of the entry of Cassini into Saturn's atmosphere.  We
monitored the planet before, during, and after the entry event to see if there
would be any indication of a flash in photometry.  

The representative image

is a median of the best selected images from the series, resampled to increase
the pixel density, and processed with Lucy Richardson maximum entropy
deconvolution to enhance detail.  The processed image was unsharp masked to
increase contrast.

It has been oriented so that north is approximately up, west to the right.

The simulation

was computed to show the positions of the satellites during the event.

Duration of image logging was from 21:51:48 to 21:59:56 local Australian eastern
time, or 11:55 UTC.  Cassini loss of signal at NASA was called at 11:55:46.
